OFSTED – Latest Area SEND Inspection report
Many families across Kent will recognise the experiences highlighted in the latest Area SEND Inspection report. While the report acknowledges positive developments and the dedication of many professionals working across education, health and social care, it also confirms what many parent carers have been telling us for some time: too many families continue to face delays, inconsistent support, poor communication and uncertainty about how decisions are made.
We know that navigating the SEND system can be exhausting and frustrating. Families have shared with us how difficult it can be to access the right support, get timely assessments and feel confident that their voices are being heard. The report recognises these concerns and highlights the need for stronger communication, more meaningful co-production and a more consistent experience for children and young people with SEND across Kent.
Kent PACT will continue to ensure that the lived experiences of families are heard and used to influence change. We remain committed to working with partners to help drive improvements so that every child and young person with SEND receives the support they need, when they need it, regardless of where they live in Kent.

Our mission is to make sure that services provided by education, health and care in Kent meet the needs of children who have special educational needs and disabilities, and their families.
We are a forum for parents and carers of children and young people who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within Kent local authority.
Kent PACT is a way to empower you as parents and carers and enable you to have your say.
The combined voices of Kent PACT are fed into how services are designed and delivered in Kent.
We are part of a National Network of Parent Carer Forums and are supported by parent led charities that you may know in your local area.
